The School of Computer Science & Engineering consists of seven teaching units of Computer Engineering Department, Software Engineering Department, Digital Media Department, Internet of Things Engineering Department, Big Data Technology Department, Computer Public Education Department, and Central Laboratory. We now have more than 2,000 full-time undergraduates, and are jointly cultivating more than 50 full-time master's degree students with China Mining University and Suzhou University.
The School has six full-time undergraduate specialties: Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Digital Media Technology, Internet of Things Engineering, Data Science, and Big Data Technology. Among them, the Computer Science and Technology specialty is a national-level outstanding engineer talent training pilot and Jiangsu Province distinctive specialty, and Software Engineering is a Jiangsu province excellent engineer talent training pilot. Computer Science & Technology, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Digital Media & Technology are in the core specialties of Jiangsu provincial colleges and universities.
The School has an passionate and courageous faculty team of 94 members, of whom 74 are full-time teachers, 11 professors, 29 associate professors, 35 doctors, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 10 master tutors. Furthermore, 3 teachers belong to Jiangsu Province "333 high-level talent cultivation project", 6 are in Jiangsu Province "six major talent peak" high-level talent project, 1 in Jiangsu Province "Qing Lan project" as young and middle-aged academic leader training object, 2 in Jiangsu Provincial colleges and universities "Qing Lan project" as outstanding young key teachers training object, 2 in Suzhou is in short supply of high-level talent introduction and supporting personnel. The School also hired several visiting professors who were selected into the National Thousand Talents Program.
Since the establishment of the School, we have been focusing on developing its own teaching characteristics. Based on international cooperation and university-enterprise interaction, an effective model has been formed. Based on the needs of enterprises, an application-oriented talent training program has been developed, which has been proved adequate to meet the needs of the development of the IT industry. We have established a practical teaching system that effectively integrates with the professional requirements of enterprises. Focusing on the quality of talents, we have created an education support system that has been proved suitable for the cultivation of application talents.
